The Yoga Factor

STI College Naga’s participants to the Cluster 9 Competition scheduled tomorrow at Lolo’s Bar and Restaurant were introduced into a different kind of battle preparation. A training that goes beyond the conventional and rigorous repetitions of steps, but rather an exercise that instills physical discipline while nurturing the power of the human spirit. Yoga.

Yoga is a scientific system of physical and mental practices that originated in India more than three thousand years ago. Its purpose is to help each one of us achieve our highest potential and to experience enduring health and happiness. With Yoga, we can extend our healthy, productive years far beyond the accepted norm and, at the same time, improve the quality of our lives and reach our specific goals.

The primary purpose of having the contestants exposed to the Yoga experience is for them to reflect among themselves the purpose of being part of the STI team. The exercises and meditations embodies the search for a deeper meaning on ones existence and purpose in life in relation to the goal set for tomorrows battle, win Cluster 9 and conquer the Nationals. Only by understands who we are, what’s expected of us and what we intend to do in return, that we will be able to see clearly the value of what we have reach thus far. The battle is not yet over; we still need to stick to the team to finally win the war.

None of us can really claim that the rare preparation we did spells highest winning accuracy. But by the nature of Yoga both as a discipline and as an exercise that transcends the attributes of the human spirit, it is by ACCEPTING the challenges that we overcome the test and it is by BELIEVING we can be victorious that victory is achieved.
